Meet Monica
I was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC, and attended Northwestern High School. I then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I met my husband, Nathan. After I received my doctorate in physical therapy from Emory University in 2013, we moved to Alexandria, VA, outside of Washington DC, where we lived for several years. But eventually I got homesick, and we moved back to York County in 2017 to start a family. We welcomed our first child, Caleb, in 2017, and our second, Piper, in 2019. I have also continued to practice physical therapy in the outpatient setting. My career has allowed me to meet people from all walks of life, and listening to their stories has helped shape the way I view the world.
I am an ordinary citizen who has always had an interest in politics. While I never envisioned myself as a politician, I have become very concerned with the direction our country is heading in the last few years. I decided to step up and run for office in order to effect change for the sake of the future of my children and the community that I love.
In the coming months, I look forward to hearing from the people of Fort Mill and Rock Hill and learning about the issues that affect you and your families. I hope to be able to represent District 26 and give back to the community that has given me so much.
